Lower Group

For students in the lower group, evaluate on whether students attempt to make 3 GIST statements. Don't worry so much about 20 words, but look more on whether they were taking the important things from the article and trying to summarize.

For journaling, grade on effort. If it looks like the students put thought into the journal entry, grade accordingly. If the student took the GIST statement and make a good connection to something within the text or their lives, grade accordingly.
